Sent and received emails scanned by ESET Smart Security can be marked with a tag message in the subject or body, indicating that the message has been scanned and is not infected. This feature increases the credibility of messages and if an infiltration is detected, provides valuable information about the threat level of the message. The options for this functionality can be found in Advanced setup (press the F5 key) > Antivirus and antispyware > Email client protection. Tag messages can be appended to all emails, infected emails only, or to no emails. ESET Smart Security also allows you to append messages to the original subject of infected messages by selecting the Append note to the subject of received and read infected email and the Append note to the subject of sent infected email options.
The content of the notifications can be modified in the Template added to the subject of infected email field. These modifications can help automate the filtering of infected email (if supported by your email client), by routing infected emails to a separate folder.
