By default, files that have already been scanned are not scanned again unless they have been modified, in order to provide the minimum system fingerprint when using real-time file system protection (files are scanned again immediately after each virus signature database update). To scan all files each time they are accessed, disable the Optimized scanning option in the Real-time file system protection Advanced Setup window.
Real-time file system protection launches at system startup to provide uninterrupted scanning. In special cases (e.g., if there is a conflict with another real-time scanner), real-time file system protection can be terminated by deselecting the Start Real-Time file system protection automatically option.
By default, advanced heuristics are not used when files are executed but can be enabled by selecting the Advanced heuristics on file execution option. Enabling this option may slow the execution of some applications due to increased system requirements.
